Through the eyes of Mama
In October of 2016, my husband and I were thrilled to find out we were 20 weeks pregnant with a baby boy. After a closely followed, high-risk pregnancy, our son Abel was born in February of 2017. Abel was born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, and diagnosed with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome. Our medically complex world began the moment Abel was delivered. After surviving eleven months in the ICU, Abel was discharged home on multiple levels of various supports.
During the process of remaining bedside with my son, losing my job, and learning how to be an advocate, my life changed. I get to see perseverance, determination, and fight, daily. My medically complex son, has become my reason for hope and empowerment through being his advocate.
Here starts the open journey, October 2018, My Hero Calls me Mama.
